... to you who radically rely on Christian Science as your chosen method of holistic healthcare as well as those of you who want to understand the wisdom or sanity of such a choice.

In Proverbs we are told to ... get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding. Understanding or wisdom is the pearl of great price. With understanding we can freely and happily do what is ours to do. But when understanding seems missing, freely and happily also seem to be hiding out somewhere else. We may react by trying to accept that doing what is ours to do is just not possible. However, our desire to do will not be silenced and we find no peace. Just what is this desire to do that will not be silenced.

It is the still small voice of Life, Truth and Love. It is the truth for us to know and be set free. It is the angel thought in Isaiah that guides us: This is the way. Walk ye in it. It is the understanding that is not missing but actively present. The best good news is that it is not some limited, inconstant, personal ability or wishful hope. It is the power of our innate dominion over the world. It is the infinite, trustworthy, wisdom of Spirit that we naturally possess as children of God and His image and likeness.

Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer of the universal governing Law of Life that she named Christian Science tells us that material Belief is changeable, but spiritual understanding is changeless ... Christian Science destroys material beliefs through the understanding of Spirit... If God were understood instead of being merely believed, this understanding would establish health.
